武汉归元禅寺：


归元寺(Guiyuan Buddhist Temple)，位于中国湖北省武汉市汉阳翠微街西端。由白光法师于清顺治15年(公元1658年)兴建，得名于佛经"归元性不二，方便有多门"之语意，被誉为"天下祈福最灵寺"，国家4A级旅游景区，全国重点佛教寺院，湖北省佛教协会和武汉市佛教协会的所在地，也是湖北省重点文物保护单位及著名的旅游景点之一。与宝通禅寺、古德寺、莲溪寺并称为武汉佛教的"四大丛林"。




中国汉地佛教尊崇五百罗汉是从五代时开始的。当时，吴越王钱氏在天台山方广寺造五百铜罗汉。显德元年(954年)，道潜禅师得吴越钱忠懿王的允许，在杭州净慈寺创建了五百罗汉堂。宋太宗雍熙二年(985年)，造罗汉像五百一十六身(十六罗汉与五百罗汉)，奉安于天台山寿昌寺，从此各地大寺院多建五百罗汉堂。关于五百罗汉的名号，五代时《复斋碑录》有关于天台山石桥寺五百罗汉的名号，今已不存。另有南宋绍光四年(1134年)工部郎高道素所录江阴军《乾明院五百罗汉尊号碑》，将五百罗汉一一起名造姓。佛教研究者认为，碑中所举五百罗汉的名号毫无典据，是宋人附会之谈而已。但此后，凡寺院建五百罗汉堂，皆援用其名。

归元寺的罗汉堂是一座新奇的艺术宝库。门前的门联是："普天供应大阿罗汉；都离方广来往归元"。楹联是："从白光开创以来，祖德惠灵长，迄今三百余年，重新广厦供罗汉；历同治中兴而后，人心沉弱，愿将二十八品，普济群生讲法华"。门联和橡联都是清光绪二十七年(1901年)曹生谦题写的。

罗汉堂始建于清朝道光年间，咸丰二年(1852年)，毁于兵燹，光绪二十一年(1895年)重建，1902年完成，至今有一百年多年历史。罗汉堂布局成"田"字型建筑格局，"田"字四个口为四个小天井，给庞大深邃的殿堂提供了良好的通风和采光条件。罗汉依"田"字排列，殿堂里尽管安放了五百多尊塑像，却没有拥挤之感。这种建筑格局既巧妙又合理。
